ABOUT ALTHEA FARMS: "It started three generations ago with a special family recipe for spiced pecans made for family and friends. Three generations later we created Althea Farms to offer our original Unpacific Pecans, along with other great gourmet snack foods. We invite you to try all of our snacks, which are hand made from simply good ingredients.
The original recipe for Unpacific Pecans came from my step-grandmother who grew up in Seattle and came to Arkansas via New York City through marriage. She and her new husband built an incredible homestead and cattle ranch on Petit Jean Mountain in 1953. She perfected the recipe while her husband was governor. She called them Unpacific Pecans because there is nothing about pecans or the spices that said Seattle! Growing up, we always had these over the Christmas holidays and I continued the tradition when I got married. I started giving them as hostess and neighbor gifts three decades ago. The gifts quickly turned into a seasonal holiday cottage business. Once our five kids were grown we decided to move to our home on Petit Jean Mountain, start Althea Farms and share these amazing pecans!"
